  Welcome to Odessa

Odessa is a romantic and lively city, a holiday resort of the highest class. Where better to meet your future wife than among the beautiful women of the Black Sea Riviera. You can relax together and you will have ample opportunities to get to know each other.

Odessa is a fascinating mix of cultural influences including Ukrainian, Russian, Jewish and Turkish. This is a port and a trading city and houses the Privoz, the 3rd largest market in the world after only Mexico City and Istanbul.

You can find almost anything you want if you look hard enough. Maybe the help of an attractive local would be useful for you. Everything happening around the railway station and market is bustle and business, but hold onto your valuables!

The Climate is mild and dry. Odessa has a long and hot summer with an average temperature of 250C and more than 290 sunny days in a year.

Another aspect of this city is the sandy beach that runs all down this part of the Black Sea coast, where you can relax and top up your tan. Summer in Odessa is party time, the most developed beach, Arcadia, has many cafes, restaurants and night clubs.

Beach bars often have their own private compound with beach beds for hire and a nice cold glass of beer served where you lie. A leafy promenade runs along the top of the facilities of Arcadia If you prefer there are more isolated and private little coves along the coast close by. Including the naturist section.

  More Info...

The architecture, French and Italian Rococo was inspired by the Duc de Richelieu during his exile here. It survived the second word war largely due to the occupation of Romanian rather than the more destructive Nazi troops.

The social centre of Odessa is Deribasovskaya, this pedestrianised, cobbled street runs for seven blocks, from just in front of the Opera house to the Metro station on Sovetskoi Armii, (good supermarket on the corner). This street draws mime artists, street musicians specialising in Jazz and young people who get a free show most nights.

The street is lined with the best cafes and restaurants in town, it's great just to sit and people watch. Towards the top of the street is the park containing the artisan market where all sorts of arts and crafts are available at reasonable prices
